Bread
Our vision for Abidance Ovens is to use the best quality ingredients
in the best way possible in order to offer people a better bread option.
We use local and organic ingredients wherever possible, and
100% natural leavening in all of our breads.
Some of the breads that we offer were developed specifically for
the therapeutic properties of their ingredients. For example, we have two kinds
of bread in our Rx line: Curry Rx and Berry Rx. They are often referred to as our "therapy breads."
These breads have the potential to help inflammatory issues.
Curry Rx, which is marketed as the "anti-inflammatory bread," contains both curry and turmeric, as well as raisins and walnuts. Berry Rx, which is marketed as our "antioxidant bread," contains pureed, as well as whole, dried blueberries, oat bran, cinnamon, and golden raisins.
Both of these breads also contain an organic green tea concentrate, and rest through
a longer bulk fermentation cycle. Green tea is well known for its anti-inflammatory/antioxidant properties, and the longer fermentation cycle this bread goes through reduces the amount of
phytic acid in the bread, thereby reducing the amount of phosphorus.
Some of the other breads we offer are made with homegrown herbs.
Coffee

The coffees that we offer through Abidance Ovens are ethically sourced specialty coffees. Offering multiple coffee options gives us the opportunity to open up the conversation about the importance of sourcing. Unfortunately, commercial grade coffee is not ethically sourced and even some specialty coffees are not given the care or attention needed towards ethical practices that would sustain the earth and the people working for the producers.
